What is your official Title?
I am a Clinical Assistant at the Center for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation.
How long have you been at Watertown Regional Medical Center? Have you always been in the same position?
I've worked at Watertown Regional Medical Center for 32 years. I started as a scheduling coordinator in surgery and did that for 15 years. I have been in my current position in rehab for 17 years.
What do you enjoy most about working at Watertown Regional Medical Center?
The patients. I love hearing their stories and finding out who they are. This helps me to better support them and their recovery goals and make their time at WRMC the best it can be.
What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
I was a fitness professional for several years and wanted to take my knowledge to the next level.
What would you say to somebody wanting to get into your profession?
If you love helping people, love a busy working environment, and love making a positive impact on people's lives and well-being, this is the calling for you.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I enjoy writing and spending time with my family and dogs. I am a certified professional dog trainer and have my own dog training business, Mosaic Dog Training, located in Watertown. I also do community presentations on dog-bite prevention where I present general dog training and dog body language education to your public organizations. It's a great fit as I get to help make the community healthier at work and at home.
What is your favorite place in the Watertown area?
Brandt Quirk Park is a lovely oasis. I enjoy walking my dogs on the dog friendly trails and enjoying nature.
What does working for a CMS “Five-Star” Hospital mean to you?
It means being blessed to spend time with people who are like my family everyday. My patients and co-workers are very special to me and the five-star rating shows they are special to everyone working here. It also means we continue to provide updated and state-of-the-art facilities for our patients. The new Center for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation brings all of our speciality services and therapists into one place. This leads to more collaboration and gives the patients a better healing environment.
Why do you believe patients can Count on Watertown Regional Medical Center for quality care?
My family and myself have experienced the quality of care and level of concern offered by the people who work here. I work in a department of highly trained and specialized rehabilitation therapists who are always learning and growing. I see how they guide our patients to meet their wellness goals. That takes deep knowledge and commitment. This commitment is evident in every department and every associate throughout our organization.
