ER WAIT
iWhen a life-threatening injury or illness occurs, you need close, constant attention by a team of specially trained health professionals who have access to the very best medical technology. Your life depends upon it.
If you or someone you love needs critical care, rest assured that a state-of-the-art intensive care unit (ICU) is available right here at Watertown Regional Medical Center. Our ICU team consists of hospitalists, critical care physicians (through the use of eICU technology), specially trained nurses, and other specialists. All uniquely trained in all aspects of critical care.
The Intensive Care Unit at Watertown Regional Medical Center is equipped with eICU technology. This technology allows critical care doctors, called intensivists, to video chat with patients, family, nurses, and fellow doctors, giving them access to assist in the care of critically ill patients.
This increased access to critical care doctors adds another layer of safety and expertise, increasing the level of care received in the Intensive Care Unit and allowing the Hospitalist to admit and safely treat the sickest of patients, right in our community.
Our Intensive Care Unit features four patient rooms which are centrally located near the nursing station. This provides the opportunity for continuous visual and telemetry monitoring of each patient.
We understand that having a loved one in intensive care can be difficult to manage and encourage family members to seek assistance with any questions or concerns they may have from any of our on duty physicians or nurses.
