What is your official Title?
I work as a Clinical Assistant at the Johnson Creek clinic.

How long have you been at Watertown Regional Medical Center? Have you always been in the same position?
I've been at the Johnson Creek location for nearly 17 years now. Being at one location for so long, has given me the ability to get to know our patients and watch them as they grow.

What do you enjoy most about working at Watertown Regional Medical Center?
I enjoy all of the different people I get to interact with. Patients keep me on my toes and keep things changing every day. My co-workers and I are like family. We all try to help each other to do what’s best for our patients and each other.

What was your inspiration for getting into healthcare?
Fresh out of high school I wanted to be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) but was uneasy around needles and instead got into the business world. I didn't like the instability there so I got back into the healthcare field with my current role. This allows me to still work with patients and help them with receiving the quality care they deserve.

What would you say to somebody wanting to get into your profession?
You have to have patience and have a willingness and enjoyment in working with people on a daily basis. I would encourage anyone to get into this profession. There is room for growth if you prefer that. They help you with your schooling, you could become clinical support with the proper training and schooling.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I like spending time outdoors. One of my favorite activities is camping and trying out different campsites around Wisconsin. I love spending time with my family and friends and going to my nieces and nephews softball and baseball games.

What is your favorite place in the Watertown area?
My favorite place to eat is Elias Inn and any place that serves Chinese. I also enjoy spending time at Riverside Park.

Why do you believe patients can count on Watertown Regional Medical Center for quality care?
As a smaller healthcare system, we build relationships with our patients that allows us to treat them as our family and friends. We care personally about your well-being and helping you get better.

What is one thing you’re doing to help prevent the spread of COVID-19?
I don’t go out into large groups anymore, including baby showers, weddings. Always wear a mask and practice social distancing. Wash my hands. Encourage other people to put their masks on.
