New OB/GYNs Arrive at Center for Women’s Health
September 6, 2022

Watertown, WI – Watertown Regional Medical Center (WRMC) is excited to announce that Dr. Kaci Axelson and Dr. Melissa Nehls recently started at the Center for Women’s Health. Their arrival, along with the decision of Dr. Jason McMaster to stay with WRMC full-time forms a complete team of full-time physicians to care for the women of Watertown and the surrounding communities.
“The schedules of all our OB/GYNs are open and appointments are available,” said Hillary Bielefeldt, Manager at the Center for Women’s Health. “If you’re looking to schedule an appointment, simply call 920.262.4825 and our reception staff will help take care of you.”
For Dr. Axelson and Dr. Nehls, coming back to Wisconsin is also a homecoming. Both were born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin and started their college journeys inside the state. Dr. Axelson completed her undergraduate degree at Marquette University and Dr. Nehls completed hers at the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. After completing their residencies outside the state, both are excited to be back in Wisconsin.
“As a graduate of the Wisconsin Academy of Rural Medicine, I always knew I wanted to come back to a smaller community in my home state,” said Dr. Nehls. “When I interviewed with Watertown, I really enjoyed the community, the people, and the Center for Women’s Health. It felt like home.”
The new physicians will be joining Dr. Jason McMaster, who originally joined the Center for Women’s Health in 2017 as a part-time/locum physician. Earlier this year, Dr. McMaster decided to stay with WRMC full-time, making the Watertown area his home. For those of you who have seen Dr. Siddiqui in the past, he will be staying with the Center for Women’s Health on a part-time basis to continue providing great care for our GYN patients.
This has been an exciting year for women’s health services in Watertown. In addition to the new physicians, the Center for Women’s Health and WRMC have earned multiple awards and distinctions for the care they provide. In June, WRMC was named to Newsweek’s ‘Best Maternity Hospital’ list and in August they announced being designated as a prestigious ‘Baby Friendly’ hospital.
“This is an exciting time to be starting at the Center for Women’s Health,” said Dr. Axelson. “The support pieces and processes for providing safe and quality care are already in place. I am ready to hit the ground running.”
Located at 128 Hospital Drive, across the street from Watertown Regional Medical Center, the Center for Women’s Health provides a broad-spectrum of women’s health services, including annual wellness care, gynecological care, obstetrics and birthing, 3D mammography, bladder health & incontinence, birth control, and menopause care. The birthing center located on the first floor of Watertown Regional Medical Center offers state-of-the-art technology inside spacious and spa-like delivery and recovery rooms.
